1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using VocabSnap ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
VocabSnap is a vocabulary capture app that uses your device camera to photograph text and extract words using third-party AI services. Extracted words are stored locally on your device. The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
3. Subscriptions & Billing
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan.
- You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your device Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
- No refunds are provided for the unused portion of a subscription term. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple.
- Free trial snaps (20 lifetime) are provided at no cost and do not require a subscription.
4. Subscription Plans
- Monthly: $5.99/month — 2,000 snaps per month
- Annual: $59.99/year (17% discount) — 2,000 snaps per month
- Additional plans may be available through promotional offers.
5. Fair Use Policy
Premium subscriptions provide generous access for individual study use. Due to use of AI, reasonable rate limits are enforced to ensure fair access and system stability:
- Monthly Quota: 20 to 2,000 snaps per 30-day period (depending on plan)
- Rolling Rate Limits: 120 snaps/hour, 240 snaps/day, 1,000 snaps/week
- Short-term limits: 1 snap/second, 6 snaps/3 seconds
- Abuse or automated use may result in temporary suspension.
6. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for all content you capture and store using the App.
- You must not use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- You must not attempt to circumvent any usage limits or security measures.
7. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party AI services for text extraction and vocabulary processing. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. The developer is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, arising out of your use of the App.
